WORLD: India , a changing health system

With a population of 1.3 billion, India faces a major health challenge: establishing a universal health insurance scheme for all Indians.

"500 million Indians are not covered for their health expenses" said Jérôme HEMARD, Chief Technical Officer of International Activities at AXA France. This social protection expert knows the country well, as well as the strength and uniqueness of Indian culture. He is often in touch with the branch office that AXA opened three years ago in New Delhi. These teams work with local institutions and governments to set up social protection insurance systems.
